Dr. George Boghozian's Web Site Coverage

Chiropractic services are not any more covered by Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP), however, they are continued to be covered by First Nation and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB). In addition they are covered by Extended Healthcare Plans, Auto-Insurance, and Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB). Under Canadian federal and provincial laws chiropractors along with medical doctors, dentists, psychologists, and optometrists have the legislated right and obligation to communicate a diagnosis and to use the title doctor. They are considered primary healthcare providers and therefore, a medical referral is not required in order to receive chiropractic treatment. However, some EHC plans ask you to submit a prescription from your family physician in order to get reimbursement for custom-made foot orthotics. For further information, please refer to Orthotics in Chiropractic Practice, which provides information about chiropractic education, training, and practice with respect to orthotics prescription and dispensing.
